Truck Yard is a bad ass beer garden with old Chevrolet's buried in to the ground. Named for the food trucks that park on location, this place offers a rotating food options and live music each night.
The entrance to the venue is lined with trucks half way out of the ground, and the theme continues on to the property.
Tables are offered in different heights. Seating ranges from colorful chairs to thrones to tables inside truck beds.
The food trucks are different depending on the days you go, but are easily identified and lined up so you have your pick of great food options.
The Dallas location is shared with a local brewery, Sour House, on top of their own bar selections the Truck Yard offers.
Each location offers yard games, which is super fun, and is dog friendly. Behind the brewery at the Dallas location is a large chess lawn set.
I visited Truck Yard on a Tuesday, and it was as lively as any other night. It is a great place to grab a beer solo or go with friends. It was a great place to watch the sunset in Dallas - there was no obstruction to the view since it is so far out from the city, which I appreciated.
They also offer events and information on doing photo shoots there - this would be a great place to do an engagement photo shoot!
They open at 11 AM most days and passed 9 PM it is 21+ only.
They also have other locations in Houston and The Colony - check out their website here for more info on everything Truck Yard. I definitely will be visiting the Houston location with friends when I am back home! Even though the location is far from the city, I would recommend taking the trip to visit this location and other great places in the area.
